Computer Graphics Designís (CGD) primary purpose†is to explore two-dimensional real-world applications of design. Students will understand the impact and role of visual art and design. Students will also be introduced to the essential elements and principles of effective visual design. Students will use criticism to develop an awareness of historical trends in design, themes and subject matter. The class will use Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe After Effects, GIMP, and Microsoft Office as tools to acquire essential techniques in creating graphics. This is as much an academic class as it is an activity class, as the curriculum meets the University of California A-G standards.
